About Gerhard
Gerhard Wennerström is an independent strategic adviser specialising in governance, collaboration and transformation within mobility.
After more than 20 years at Samtrafiken—including 19 years as CEO—he brings first-hand experience of building trust, shared infrastructure and workable governance between public authorities, commercial operators and competing interests.
Gerhard has worked at the centre of Sweden’s railway liberalisation and was appointed by the Swedish Government to lead the inquiry into a national public transport ticketing system. As Vice Chair of Drive Sweden, he is closely engaged in how autonomous transport, new business models and regulatory change are reshaping mobility.
Facilitation in practice
Strategic facilitation creates the conditions for experts with different mandates to challenge assumptions, understand the system and make better choices together.
A current scenario-based process for the Drive Sweden network explores how fully automated transport could reshape roles, services and governance across public authorities, industry and research.
